Jill Dillman
Children’s Ministry Director

What is your place of birth/where are you from? Where all have you lived?

I was raised in North Little Rock and grew up at Lakewood United Methodist. This church is a big part of my faith journey and I love the fact that people who helped guide me when I was younger are still strong members at LUMC.

Where did you attend school (high school/college/grad school)?

I graduated from North Little Rock High School and I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of Arkansas (as well as several graduate level hours in Leadership and Instruction).

What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?

I have been married for almost 20 years to my husband Scott and we have two sons: Drew and Ben.  Drew is 15 and Ben is 14. I love to travel, read, spend time with family and friends, and cook!

Do you have a favorite Bible verse, passage, or story? If so, what is it?

My favorite Bible passage is Psalm 139. I truly seek to embrace daily the words contained in this chapter. God has ordained EACH of us for a purpose and we are all “fearfully and wonderfully made.” I am thankful for the fact that there are so many different and unique people in the church, community, and world!

What is a fun fact about you that most people may not know?

A couple of fun facts that some people may not know:

  1. I was a summer youth director at LUMC when I was just 19 years old! It opened my eyes to serving in ministry and fueled my desire to work closely with families in helping young people know Jesus.

  2. I worked at Walt Disney World for a summer in the WDW College Program! It was a wonderful experience and I learned so much! It was also the only time in my life that I actually had a consistent tan!

Do you follow sports? If so, what are your favorite sports/teams?

As far as sports, I do love the Razorbacks as they represent my alma mater. However, my favorite sport is watching my boys compete in any of the sports they enjoy. I have become a big fan of soccer, basketball, swimming, cross country, track and field, and more! Our two sons, Drew and Ben, are very active and we love to watch them in a variety of activities!

What is your favorite place you have visited? If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go? What would you do there? Who would you go with?

I am fortunate that I have been able to travel more than many people. This is helped by the fact that my husband Scott is an pilot of Delta Air Lines. One of my favorite trips was to Puerto Rico. I adored the beach, the people, the culture, the adventures we had, and the food! I love seeing the ways others live and I love being away together with my family.

I would love to go to Hawaii and I am very interested in traveling to Europe one day.

If you were given the opportunity to share a meal with any one person - past or present, who would you dine with?

If I could dine with anyone, I think it would be hard for me to choose just one person. I am always concerned about leaving people out and always want others to feel welcome… so this question is one with which I struggle!

If you had to choose your last meal, what would it be?

My last meal would be such a hodgepodge. I know I would likely choose my mom’s chicken and dumplings, steak grilled by husband, squash and zucchini primavera, and my triple chocolate cake!
