Adult Groups Meeting Weekly (Mondays through Saturdays):

Advanced Discipleship: Also called Disciple Fast Track I, this study is adapted from the original DISCIPLE I study developed by the Richard and Julia Wilke Institute for Discipleship We will be using the BeADisciple Study App in this study. It will offer a sweeping survey of scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. This class will require about 2 1/2 hours of time per week, away from class, in order to keep up with the pace of the group content. This group meets on Wednesday nights from 6:15pm until 7:15pm, beginning September 13, and running for approx 24 weeks. We will cover roughly 60% of the Bible. This group will be led by Pastor Roy Beth Kelley. Click here to register for this group

Art and Christianity: We will explore Christianity through the images made by various cultures and in different time periods from early Christianity through c. 1600.  We will start by looking at some of the earliest known Christian artwork from Syria & Italy, then move to glittering Byzantine images, followed by the often more somber Medieval and Gothic Styles, before exploring the complex iconography of Renaissance art, and wrap up with dramatic Baroque paintings and sculptures. We will look at themes and symbols found in early Christian art and architecture, as well as discuss how many of the familiar images we see today in art came to be used as symbols for religious figures or ideas throughout history.  This class is for anyone who loves looking at art & wants to know more! This group meets on Wednesday nights from 6:15pm until 7:15pm, from September 13 through October 18. This group will be led by Jeannie Lee. Click here to register for this group.
