Ministry Mission Statements

Last year, 2008, we encouraged our ministry teams and Sunday school classes to develop mission statements.  Below are some of the ones that have been developed.

The Lakewood Missions Team exists to empower each member of the Church to expand the Light by sponsoring or participating in projects for those in need in the community, the state, and the world

The mission of the Lakewood UMC Congregational Care Team is to expand the light by maintaining relationships within our community of faith by providing person to person pastoral contact with those in our circle of care.

We, as the Friends of Faith Sunday school class of Lakewood United Methodist Church commit to encourage each other, study the Bible, support the church, volunteer our time and talents, and fellowship together in order to develop close Christian friendships through which we can support one another in our journeys with Christ.

The mission of the Lakewood United Methodist Green Team is to communicate, educate, educate, coordinate, and motivate the staff and congregation to become good environmental stewards, and to follow the biblical command to take godly care of our planet.

Status and Role of Women mission statement:  We will encourage acceptance of all who lead in expanding the light of Lakewood United Methodist Church without regard to gender.  Our goal is to assist in finding qualified women to serve in leadership positions.

The Evangelism Committee will demonstrate radical hospitality through our witness, education, and Christian fellowship to expand the love of Jesus Christ to all.

The mission of the Communications/Technology Team is to communicate LUMC's vision to the congregation and the community through coordination and use of information technology.
