 Worship at Lakewood

We have three different worship services to offer everyone a passionate, relevant and life-changing experience (we've been having quite a few people listen to our online sermons).  And check out our diverse music program.

8:45 Traditional Worship: During this service you'll experience the classic worship style of the United Methodist Church in our beautiful Sanctuary (easily identified by the large steeple that overlooks Lakewood).  Worship songs will include such favorites as "On Eagles Wings" and "Amazing Grace." Responsive readings are also throughout the service as special music is presented by the Joyful Noise choir. The service ends at 9:30, when we invite you to join one of our great Sunday School Classes, beginning at 9:45.

9:45 Contemporary Worship: A truly blended service that provides an opportunity for a variety of worship styles to emerge through music that is designed to connect the worshiper to Spirit/God. The songfest may range from current Praise and Worship to contemporary arrangements of standard hymns, to secular music with spiritual themes.  A typical Sunday could feature songs by Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Amy Grant, Doobie Brothers, James Taylor and a spirited arrangement of I'll Fly Away. This service lasts until 10:30, when we invite the youth to Sunday School and the adults to attend one of our two 10:45 classes.

10:45 Traditional Worship:  During this service you will experience the classic worship style of the United Methodist Church with traditions reaching back to ancient Christianity. Worship songs will include such favorites as "All Things Bright and Beautiful" and "Shine Jesus Shine." Song are sung from the United Methodist Hymnal and from The Faith We Sing Hymnal. A children's sermon is presented and followed by Children's Church. Chancel Choir. The service lets out at 11:45.
