Lakewood is alive with music. From modern acoustic to classic praise, from choir and organ to bluegrass, we have talented, spirited musicians and groups who love what they do.
Acoustic guitars and modern Christian music anchor our newest worship service, illumination (11 am, in Gibson Hall), while our largest worship, the Blue Jean Service (9 am, Wesley Hall), is led by the LEVItes praise band, a twenty-year tradition here at LUMC.
Piano, organ, and choir leading both old-time hymns and classic "high church" music are found in our 9 and 11 am Sanctuary services (at 9 and 11 am). They will fill you with the awe and grandeur of God.
Under the direction of Lisa Bryant, we also have two adult Handbell Choirs, the Jubilee Ringers and the Bells of Joy, who perform in services and at special events, along with our youth bell choir, the Southern Bells, and the Wesley Ringers, our beginner bell choir.
We have many special events that feature music, sometimes with professional groups from outside the church, like the African Children's Choir, and even sometimes with our church staff, many of whom are also performing musicians.
